The company, which is part of the Golden Dragon Group, has laid-off marketing employees. According to the Macao Daily News, all of those affected are local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Golden Dragon Group&nbsp;has <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-golden-dragon-group-to-close-its-four-satellite-casinos\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-golden-dragon-group-to-close-its-four-satellite-casinos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">four satellite casinos that will close their doors by mid-year<\/a>. The group runs Casino Golden Dragon, Royal Dragon and Casino Million Dragon under SJM Holdings\u2019 licence and Grand Dragon Casino in Taipa under Melco Resorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company has said the closure of satellite casinos was due to a &#8220;tough business operating environment arising from the Covid-19 pandemic over the past two years.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SJM Holdings\u2019 executive director\u00a0<strong>Angela Leong On Kei\u00a0<\/strong>has promised that <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sjm-to-absorb-workers-left-unemployed-by-satellite-casino-closures\" target=\"_blank\">the casino operator would take care of employees<\/a>\u00a0who may be affected by the closure of satellite casinos linked to the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As previously reported by Focus Gaming News, the Macau Gambling Law Amendment allows satellite casinos to continue operating even if the property on which they are located is not wholly owned by the gambling franchisee.
