Japan.- The closing of the application window for Japan’s proposed three integrated resort licences has passed with only two bids submitted. The two contenders are Osaka <\/strong>and Nagasaki<\/strong>. They both submitted IR District Development Plans that were approved by their city councils and then prefectural assemblies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hirofumi Yoshimura, governor of Osaka Prefecture, and Kengo Oishi, governor of Nagasaki Prefecture, submitted their respective development plans to the ministry of land, infrastructure, transport and tourism on Tuesday, April 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Wakayama <\/strong>and Yokohama<\/strong>, two other potential applicants, didn’t submit proposals. In Wakayama,\u00a0the City’s prefectural assembly<\/a>\u00a0voted against submitting a bid due to concerns that planning and fundraising for the project were unclear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yokohama withdrew its IR plans last year after\u00a0Takeharu Yamanaka<\/a>\u00a0won the mayoral elections.
