The funds will be used to purchase medical supplies and support local communities in Wuhan and Hubei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement issued by the gambling giant, Melco said it is working with the government to ensure the funds are used to control the spread of the deadly <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/services-macau-hong-kong-coronavirus\">Coronavirus<\/a><\/em><\/strong> that has already claimed 170 lives.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur thoughts are with the people of Wuhan and Hubei, and all those who are impacted by the new strain of the Coronavirus,\u201d Melco Resorts &amp; Entertainment Chairman and CEO, Lawrence Ho, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe hope this donation helps accelerate the preventive measures to contain the spread of the virus.
