She said Macau hoped to open soon to arrivals from Portugal, in particular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Macau has recently&nbsp;reduced its <strong>mandatory quarantine requirement<\/strong> from 21 days to 14 days&nbsp;for Macau ID holders from Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China. However, foreigners from these countries still need to apply to enter Macau and can only do so under certain special circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mainland China continues to be the only country to have a&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/covid-19-vaccine-passports-could-speed-up-macau-tourism-recovery\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">largely quarantine-free travel bubble<\/a>&nbsp;with Macau.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Macau occupancy rate could reach 60% during Labour Day break<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO)<\/strong>&nbsp;director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes has said she expects Macau to see an&nbsp;<strong>average occupancy rate of \u201c60 per cent or higher\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;during the Labour Day break. She expects the city would receive a daily tally of more than 25,000 visitor arrivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>China\u2019s State Council has designated April 30 to May 4 as this year\u2019s Labour Day break, a period which usually sees strong market demand in Macau. Last year&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-occupancy-hits-83-2-during-labour-day-break\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">165,500 tourists came to Macau<\/a>&nbsp;during the holiday period.
