However, it&#8217;s not looking good for the Labour Day break from April 30 to May 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wong Fai, president of Macau Leisure Tourism Services Innovation Association<\/strong>, has told GGRAsia that hopes for the Labour Day holiday period &#8220;are going to be dashed&#8221; if Macau retains the requirement for visitors entering via the neighbouring province of Guangdong to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-keeps-covid-19-test-requirements-for-guangdong-arrivals\" target=\"_blank\">hold a negative nucleic acid Covid-19 test certificate<\/a>\u00a0issued within 24 hours prior to arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wong Fai said: \u201cWe hope that the government could put in place targeted support measures for the smaller-scale businesses.\u00a0For the long term, we also hope that the government would continue to negotiate with the mainland for easing our travel conditions further.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last year\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-occupancy-hits-83-2-during-labour-day-break\" target=\"_blank\">165,500 tourists came to Macau<\/a> during the Labour Day holiday period.
