According to police, they were arrested in separate raids in which officers seized THB3.7m, land purchase documents, eight mobile phones and two computers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Bangkok Post, the two suspects admitted to running an online gambling site for more than two years with a circulation of more than THB50m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few days ago, police raided operation centres for<strong>\u00a016 online gambling sites<\/strong>\u00a0in Nonthaburi province and\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/thailand-10-arrested-for-illegal-online-gambling\" target=\"_blank\">arrested 10 people<\/a>. Five men and five women were arrested. Police seized computers, monitors, mobile phones, five fingerprint scanners, internet equipment, four security cameras and computer accessories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March, representatives of the governments of Thailand and Cambodia met to sign a<strong>\u00a0memorandum of understanding\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/thailand-and-cambodia-join-forces-to-crack-down-on-online-gambling-dens\" target=\"_blank\">tackle online gambling hub operators<\/a>\u00a0and call-centre scammers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana<\/strong>, spokesman for the Prime Minister\u2019s Office of Thailand said the agreement reflects the government\u2019s increased efforts to crack down on scammers and online gambling on orders from Prime Minister Prayuth Prayut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The spokesman said the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society was integrating its operations with other government agencies to crack down on call centre gangs and gambling sites.
