{"id":28630,"date":"2022-04-01T09:12:05","date_gmt":"2022-04-01T12:12:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=28630"},"modified":"2026-04-23T09:58:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T12:58:11","slug":"genting-singapore-to-show-revenue-and-profit-in-2022-analysts-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/genting-singapore-to-show-revenue-and-profit-in-2022-analysts-say","title":{"rendered":"Genting Singapore to show revenue and profit in 2022, analysts say"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Analysts at Bernstein say the reopening of borders in Singapore will allow Genting Singapore to report revenue and profit for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Singapore.- <strong>Vitaly Umansky<\/strong>, an analyst at Bernstein, has predicted that Genting Singapore will report revenue and profit growth for the remainder of 2022 and into 2023 after Singapore <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/singapore-to-reopen-borders-to-fully-vaccinated-travellers-from-april\">reopened its borders to tourism<\/a> for fully vaccinated visitors today (April 1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Growth will, however, be limited due as travel restrictions are expected to continue in China, which makes up about 30 per cent of the company&#8217;s business. Genting Singapore reported earnings of\u00a0<strong>S$95.1m (US$70.7m)<\/strong>\u00a0for the second half of 2021. Revenue for the period was <strong>17 per cent lower<\/strong>, at S$512.5m (US$381.2m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the\u00a0<strong>full year<\/strong>, the group\u2019s revenue improved marginally<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0<strong>S$1.067bn<\/strong>\u00a0from S$1.064bn in 2002. Net profit was up 165 per cent at S$183.3m (US$136.3m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Singapore received 330,000 foreign visitors in 2021<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) reported<strong> a rise in foreign tourist arrivals<\/strong> in the latter part of 2021. According to the STB, 330,000 foreign tourists arrived in Singapore in 2021, generating tourism receipts of around S$1.9bn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The figure was still down when compared to 2020, due to a strong tourism performance in the first two months of 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic.
