{"id":28238,"date":"2022-03-21T07:06:50","date_gmt":"2022-03-21T10:06:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=28238"},"modified":"2026-04-23T10:22:38","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T13:22:38","slug":"capital-group-companies-sells-19-45m-shares-in-wynn-macau","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/capital-group-companies-sells-19-45m-shares-in-wynn-macau","title":{"rendered":"Capital Group Companies sells 19.45m shares in Wynn Macau"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Capital Group has announced it has reduced its stake in Wynn Macau from 6.10 per cent to 5.73 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.-<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Wynn Resorts Macau has reported that Capital Group Companies Inc, one of its shareholders,\u00a0<strong>has sold 19.45 million shares<\/strong>\u00a0for nearly HKD90m (US$11.5m).\u00a0The sale reduces\u00a0Capital Group&#8217; participation in Wynn Macau from 6.10 per cent to 5.73 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The news comes a week after Wynn Macau\u2019s shares fell 15 per cent as mainland China expanded&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/casino-stocks-fall-as-macau-toughens-covid-19-measures-for-guangdong-and-other-areas\" target=\"_blank\">measures to contain a rise in Covid-19 cases<\/a>.&nbsp;Capital Group Companies Inc&nbsp;previously acquired <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/capital-group-companies-inc-increases-stake-in-wynn-macau\">4,578,800 shares<\/a> for nearly HKD33.4m (US$4.29m) in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Macau casino operators to be charged up to US$10m for extension of concessions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Casino operators will be required to pay between MOP50m and<strong>&nbsp;MOP80m<\/strong>&nbsp;(US$10m) for the extension of their current concessions until the end of the year.&nbsp;TDM Radio also reported that operators will have to present a&nbsp;<strong>bank guarantee&nbsp;<\/strong>of up to MOP1.6bn to protect against possible layoffs in the event that their licence is not renewed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Macau\u2019s current casino licences were&nbsp;<strong>due to expire in June 2022<\/strong>&nbsp;and a tender process for renewal has yet to be held due to delays in changes to Macau\u2019s gaming legislation.
