Bernstein Ltd<\/strong>\u00a0has reported that Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the first week of March was down 32 per cent when compared to last year. That was largely due to new restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Month-to-date GGR stands at<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>MOP1.1bn (US$135m), down 75 per cent when compared to pre-pandemic levels, with average daily revenue of MOP183m.\u00a0Analysts now expect Macau&#8217;s GGR for March to be down 78 per cent when compared to pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VIP average daily GGR was down 78 per cent month-on-month and mass GGR down 35 per cent when compared to last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue (GGR)&nbsp;<\/strong>was up 22 per cent&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-down-20-3-in-january\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">month-on-month<\/a>&nbsp;in February from MOP6.34bn (US$793m) to MOP7.76bn (US$963.8m). The figure was also up 6 per cent when compared to February last year, when&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-declines-8-9-in-february\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">revenue was MOP7.31bn (US$914.5m)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mainland China continues to be the only country to have a&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/covid-19-vaccine-passports-could-speed-up-macau-tourism-recovery\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">largely quarantine-free travel bubble<\/a>&nbsp;with Macau. Those crossing the land border from China must present a Covid-19 test taken no more than 48 hours prior.
