{"id":27849,"date":"2022-03-07T07:39:28","date_gmt":"2022-03-07T10:39:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=27849"},"modified":"2026-04-23T10:44:38","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T13:44:38","slug":"grand-korea-leisure-casino-sales-down-29-6-in-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/grand-korea-leisure-casino-sales-down-29-6-in-february","title":{"rendered":"Grand Korea Leisure casino sales down 29.6% in February"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) has reported a 29.6 per cent decline in casino sales month-on-month, from KRW9.72bn (US$8.1m) to KRW6.85bn (US$5.6m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>South Korea.-\u00a0<strong>Grand Korea Leisure (GKL)<\/strong>\u00a0has shared its financial results for February, posting casino sales of KRW6.85bn (US$5.6m).\u00a0That&#8217;s a drop of 29.9 per cent\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/grand-korea-leisure-casino-sales-down-4-1-in-january\" target=\"_blank\">when compared to the previous month<\/a> but a rise of 1,250 per cent year-on-year since the Busan casino was shut until February 15, 2021 and the Seoul casino reopened in mid-March 2021 due to Covid-19 countermeasures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Table game sales&nbsp;<\/strong>were down 32.5 per cent month-on-month to KRW5.149bn while&nbsp;<strong>machine game sales were down 14.6 per cent<\/strong>&nbsp;year-on-year to KRW1.35bn.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The casino operator recently shared its\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/grand-korea-leisure-posts-net-loss-of-us94-7m-for-2021\" target=\"_blank\">financial results for the year 2021<\/a>. It reported a net loss of KRW113.27bn (US$94.7m) and an\u00a0<strong>operating loss of KRW145.83bn in 2021<\/strong>, compared with KRW88.81bn the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first two months of 2022 combined, <strong>GKL casino sales were KRW16.65bn<\/strong>, up by more than 3,000 per cent when compared to the previous year. Aggregate sales for table games in the first two months of the year were nearly KRW13.63bn.
