Police officers together with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) cut the electricity supply of 8 illegal gambling hubs located in Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Malaysia.- Police officers cut the electricity power<\/a> of 9 illegal gambling hubs that were operating in Setapak Jaya, Jalan Tasik Titiwangsa, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Ampang Hilir, Jalan Gombak Batu 5 and Setapak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The joint operation against illegal gambling<\/strong> was carried out between police officers and members of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the Malaysian multinational electricity company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to local media reports, most of the premises were shophouses that were rented by gambling syndicates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Sama<\/strong> told The Star the gambling dens had been raided several times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He then added: “In the latest case, we detained three individuals including the premises’ caretaker in Setapak Jaya on January 21. We seized several online gambling equipment and the suspects have already been charged on January 26.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17 arrested over illegal cockfighting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Police arrested 17 people during a raid on an illegal cockfighting event <\/strong>that was being held at an open space at Jalan Bukit Penyau on Saturday. Those arrested were aged 19 to 75.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police seized four live and two dead chickens, three fighting cocks and an electronic weighing machine. The case is being investigated under Section 3(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
