Crown received <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-sydney-to-open-non-gaming-areas\" target=\"_blank\">a provisional liquor licence<\/a>\u00a0to operate gastronomic areas at the venue from December 28 2020, but the opening of the casino was delayed <strong>due to the verdict of New South Wales\u2019 inquiry<\/strong>, which found Crown unsuitable to hold its casino licence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A spokesperson for the New South Wales Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority told local media on Friday: \u201cIt is anticipated that the Authority may permit Crown [Resorts Ltd] to commence gaming on a conditional basis in the next few weeks,\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don Carducci, an analyst at JP Morgan Australia, had said&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-sydney-expected-to-open-with-160-tables-analysts-say\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the opening will see 160 tables<\/a>&nbsp;with the possibility to expand that number in the following months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the presentation of its <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-resorts-reports-a-six-month-net-loss-of-us141-5m\" target=\"_blank\">financial report<\/a>\u00a0for the last six months of 2021, Crown stated: \u201cWhilst no official opening date has been confirmed concerning the opening of gaming in Sydney, Crown is targeting to be in a position to announce the opening of the gaming floor shortly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the last half,\u00a0<strong>Crown Sydney\u00a0<\/strong>made AUD36.1m (US$25.8m) from non-gambling. This was an increase of AUD35.2m (US$25.2m) from H1 2021. The venue was closed for 102 days in the half-year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"crown-resorts-accepts-us-6-36bn-blackstone-takeover-bid\">Crown Resorts accepts US$6.36bn Blackstone takeover bid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-resorts-receives-a-new-offer-from-blackstone\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">months of negotiations<\/a>, the board of&nbsp;<strong>Crown Resorts Ltd<\/strong>&nbsp;has unanimously backed investment firm&nbsp;<strong>Blackstone Inc<\/strong>\u2018s offer to acquire all the shares of Crown Resorts in a deal that values the firm at&nbsp;<strong>AUD8.9bn (US$6.36bn)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the latest proposal, Crown Resorts stockholders would be entitled to&nbsp;<strong>AUD13.10 (US$9.55) in cash per share<\/strong>. The offer is the fourth that Blackstone has made in 12 months.
