According to officers,\u00a0the illegal gambling hubs had made <strong>transactions worth about RM405,000. <\/strong>During the raids, police arrested eight Indonesian men, between the ages of 15 and 30, who were believed to be operators of a gambling call centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah told The Borneo Post those arrested had been working there since September and October last year. He said they were paid between RM1,300 and RM1,500 each, including bonuses based on monthly profits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the police, some of the Indonesian men didn&#8217;t have valid travel documents. Ahsmon Bajah said those arrested have been detained for 14 days starting to assist in the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yesterday it was also revealed police conducted two raids that ended with the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/malaysia-17-arrested-for-illegal-gambling\">detention of 17 people<\/a>\u00a0who were allegedly involved in illegal gambling activities.\u00a0And two weeks ago,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/malaysia-10-arrested-over-illegal-online-gambling\">police detained 10 alleged members of gambling syndicates at two venues near Klang<\/a>.
