The average room occupancy rate in 2021 was 50 per cent, an increase of 21.4 percentage points from 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DSEC has reported that <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-visitor-arrivals-up-30-7-in-2021\">Macau registered 7.71m visitor arrivals in 2021<\/a>, up 30.7 per cent year-on-year but down 80.0 per cent when compared to pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021,\u00a0<strong>Macau received about 7.05 million tourists from mainland China<\/strong>, an increase of 48.2 per cent over the previous year. There were nearly 2.45m individual trips, an increase of 31.3 per cent.
