Macau\u2019s casino operators are performing temperature tests at 405 guest entrances and 47 employee entrances<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- With two confirmed cases of Coronavirus pneumonia in Macau<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, casino operators are undertaking temperature tests at hundreds of guest and employee entrances in a bid to stop it spreading further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the government is taking measures to control the virus, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), Macau\u2019s gaming regulator, is also trying to do everything it can to avoid more causes and ultimately deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement released this Thursday, they asked casino operators to cooperate with the situation. \u201cIt strictly urges all gaming companies to continue to strengthen the prevention and control measures of infectious diseases in its casinos, pay close attention to the development of unexplained pneumonia in Wuhan, and actively cooperate with prevention and control measures implemented by the SAR government in response to changes in related to infectious diseases.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, Macau authorities confirmed the first case<\/a><\/em><\/strong> of Wuhan coronavirus-linked pneumonia in Macau. Despite huge efforts to keep the infection out of the international gaming hub, the pneumonia outbreak has now hit the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first victim is a 52-year-old businesswoman from Wuhan who had spent two days at the New Orient Landmark casino hotel before she displayed symptoms of the virus and was hospitalised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second confirmed case is a 66 year-old man who entered Macau yesterday.
