The move comes after <strong>Genting Hong Kong&nbsp;<\/strong>confirmed it had&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/genting-hong-kong-considers-filing-for-liquidation\">filed for liquidation<\/a>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the company, suspending operations will provide Crystal\u2019s management team with &#8220;an opportunity to evaluate the current state of business and examine various options moving forward.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jack Anderson<\/strong>, Crystal\u2019s president, said: &#8220;This was an extremely difficult decision but a prudent one given the current business environment and recent developments with our parent company, Genting Hong Kong.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: \u201cCrystal has been synonymous with luxury cruising for more than 30 years and we look forward to welcoming back our valued guests when we resume operations.&nbsp;We wish to thank our guests and travel advisors for their incredible support during these ongoing challenging times.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Genting Hong Kong previously said the majority of the company\u2019s existing operations would cease to operate except for cruise lines run by Dream Cruises Holding Limited, which would continue \u201cto preserve and protect the core assets and maintain the value of the Group.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/genting-hk-shares-fall-on-concerns-over-default-risk\">The company shares plunged 56 per cent<\/a>&nbsp;after the company\u2019s shipyard in Germany filed for bankruptcy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Crystal Cruises has suspended operations for its Ocean and Expedition ships through April 29 and its River cruises until the end of May.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":26500,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Crystal Cruises, a subsidiary of the casino cruise ship group Genting Hong Kong, has suspended operations for its Ocean, Expedition, and River fleets following Genting Hong Kong's filing for liquidation.
