After a 14-day ban, all commercial passenger flights to Macau will resume from January 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- Macau’s Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre has announced that the ban that prohibits the arrival of flights from outside China <\/strong>to Macau will be lifted from January 24. The ban<\/a>\u00a0had been taken as a Covid-19 countermeasure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those aged 12 and above who want to enter Macau must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Stricter quarantine measures have been implemented for incoming passengers from destinations deemed \u201cvery high-risk\u201d in 22 countries\/regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before heading to Macau, travellers from these high-risk areas must present three negative Covid-19 nucleic acid test results<\/strong>\u00a0within five days and at least 24 hours apart.\u00a0They will be quarantined for 28 days<\/strong>\u00a0after arriving in Macau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macau visitor arrivals up 30.7% in 2021<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC)<\/a> has reported that Macau received 7.971m tourists in 2021<\/strong>, up 30.7 per cent year-on-year. The average length of stay of visitors increased to 1.6 days during the period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of overnight visitors in 2021 was close to 3.7 million, a year-on-year increase of 31 per cent. Official figures show that overnight visitors accounted for 48 per cent of total visitor arrivals<\/strong>. The number of visitors to Macau on the same day increased by 30.4 per cent to about 4.01 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
