{"id":26312,"date":"2022-01-17T09:57:28","date_gmt":"2022-01-17T12:57:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=26312"},"modified":"2026-04-23T12:12:05","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T15:12:05","slug":"pagcor-rated-excellent-on-2020-corporate-governance-scorecard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-rated-excellent-on-2020-corporate-governance-scorecard","title":{"rendered":"PAGCOR rated  &#8220;excellent&#8221; on 2020 Corporate Governance Scorecard"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>PAGCOR has been awarded an \u201cexcellent\u201d rating in its 2020 Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS) Assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-earmarks-php100m-for-two-towns-to-build-evacuation-centres\">PAGCOR<\/a>) has increased its cap, earning an &#8220;excellent&#8221; rating in its 2020 Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS) assessment from the Governance Commission for Government-Owned or Controlled Corporations (GCG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its Scorecard Validation report, GCG stated, &#8220;<strong>PAGCOR has clear and strong lines of communication\u00a0<\/strong>that allow the agency to respond quickly and efficiently to customer requirements and public needs to ensure consistent quality service.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PAGCOR Chairman and CEO <strong>Andrea Domingo\u00a0<\/strong>said: &#8220;We have been over two years into this pandemic, and similar to many industries, the gaming sector has not been spared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;In spite of our&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/philippines-ggr-up-52-for-q3\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">revenue losses<\/a>, among other limitations, we remained committed to our regulatory and nation-building mandate. Hence,&nbsp;<strong>we continued to touch the lives of less privileged Filipinos<\/strong>. Likewise, we ensured that the government gets its fair share of revenues from regulated gaming.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CGS assessment is implemented for all government-owned and controlled companies (GOCCs).
