The second raid ended with eight foreigners arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The third and final raid was carried out at a residential flat where six foreigners and a local woman were arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the raids,<strong>&nbsp;police also seized computers, modems and equipment<\/strong>&nbsp;to carry out illegal gambling activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last December,&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/malaysia-5-arrested-for-illegal-online-gambling\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">police arrested five Indonesian<\/a>&nbsp;men who were acting as credit top-up and online gambling credit withdrawal operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the raid, police seized laptops, mobile phones, wireless modems and a tablet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan<\/strong>, director of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department, said\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/malaysia-25643-arrested-for-illegal-gambling-in-first-10-months-of-2021\">police had conducted a total of 17,382 raids<\/a>\u00a0involving 25,643 arrests between January and the end of October, 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Authorities in Kuching carried out a raid and busted three online gambling call centres.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":24984,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Malaysian authorities in Kuching conducted raids on three illegal online gambling call centres, leading to 22 arrests, including 17 foreign nationals.
