{"id":26145,"date":"2022-01-11T09:50:23","date_gmt":"2022-01-11T12:50:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=26145"},"modified":"2026-04-23T12:23:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T15:23:14","slug":"lottery-sales-in-china-down-4-6-in-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/lottery-sales-in-china-down-4-6-in-november","title":{"rendered":"Lottery sales in China down 4.6% in November"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Chinese lottery sales in November were down 4.6 per cent year-on-year and down 22 per cent when compared to pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>China.- China\u2019s Ministry of Finance has reported that&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/lottery-sales-in-china-down-4-2-in-september\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lottery sales<\/a>&nbsp;for November declined from CNY37.77bn to CNY36.04bn (US$5.58bn).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The figure was down 4.6 per cent when compared to November 2020 and down 22 per cent when compared to November 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Welfare Lottery sales<\/strong>&nbsp;were CNY15.02bn, down 10.1 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sales of\u00a0<strong>instant win games\u00a0<\/strong>hit CNY1.6bn in revenue, up 21.3 per cent, and keno games reached CNY2.36bn while video lottery sales plummeted 80 per cent to CNY1,600.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sports lottery sales were CNY21.03bn, down 0.2 per cent but digital sales were up 10.3 per cent to CNY9.8bn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lottery also reported<strong>&nbsp;instant games brought in CNY1.57bn, up 1.2 per cent&nbsp;<\/strong>while customers at keno spent CNY3.4m in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like previous months,&nbsp;<strong>most of the Welfare Lottery and Sports Lottery sales came from&nbsp;<\/strong>Guangdong, Xinjiang and Guizhou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the first eleven months of the year 2021, lottery sales accounted for a total of CNY297.44bn, down 22.0 per cent when compared to pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CNY129.22bn of total sales came from the Welfare Lottery while Sports Lottery agencies reported sales of CNY168.22bn, down 25.1 per cent and 19.4 per cent respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout 2020,&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/video-lottery-sales-plummet-in-china\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Video lottery sales<\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>were most affected by the pandemic and the closure of betting outlets at the beginning of the year.
