{"id":26013,"date":"2022-01-05T07:05:07","date_gmt":"2022-01-05T10:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=26013"},"modified":"2026-04-23T12:33:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T15:33:08","slug":"paradise-co-gaming-revenue-down-25-7-in-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/paradise-co-gaming-revenue-down-25-7-in-2021","title":{"rendered":"Paradise Co gaming revenue down 25.7% in 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Paradise Co has reported that gaming revenue declined 25.7 per cent year-on-year to KRW249.76bn (US$208.8m) in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>South Korea.- The South Korean casino operator\u00a0<strong>Paradise Co\u00a0<\/strong>has shared its financial results for the year 2021 and revealed that casino revenue was down 25.7 per cent when compared to the previous year, falling from KRW335.97bn to KRW249.76bn (US$208.8m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Table revenue was KRW226.89bn<\/strong>, down 27.1 per cent when compared to the year before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Revenue from machine games in 2021 was KRW22.87bn, a decrease of 8.1 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Paradise Co\u2019s total casino revenue for December<\/strong>\u00a0was up 203.0 per cent\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/paradise-co-gaming-revenue-down-53-6-in-november\">month-on-month<\/a> from KRW9.90bn (US$8.4m) to KRW29.92bn (US$25m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Table revenue was up 249.3 per cent from&nbsp;<strong>KRW8.05bn to&nbsp;<\/strong>KRW28.0bn while machine game revenue was also up 3.3 per cent from KRW1.86bn to KRW1.92bn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/south-korean-casinos-get-grace-period-on-payment-of-tourism-fees\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Casinos in South Korea<\/a>&nbsp;have been allowed to delay the payment of some Tourism Promotion and Development Fund fees until June 2022 due to the difficulties the industry continues to face due to the Covid-19 pandemic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A representative at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the agency responsible for collecting the fees from casino operators, said the grace period had been approved for &#8220;two casino entities&#8221; but didn\u2019t name them.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s since emerged that the operators in question are\u00a0<strong>Paradise Co Ltd<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Grand Korea Leisure Co Ltd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Paradise Co has reported that gaming revenue declined 25.7 per cent year-on-year to KRW249.76bn (US$208.8m) in 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Paradise Co reported a 25.7% year-on-year decline in 2021 gaming revenue to KRW249.76bn, primarily driven by a 27.1% decrease in table revenue, despite a strong 203.0% month-on-month recovery in December.
