Manglona has ruled that Cui Li Jie has failed to provide backups of her electronically stored information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Northern Mariana Islands.-<strong>\u00a0Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona\u00a0<\/strong>has\u00a0ordered  Imperial Pacific International&#8217;s former chairwoman <strong>Cui Li Jie<\/strong> to pay a daily sanction of US$200\u00a0per day for failing to comply with a court order to hand over electronic data. The fine for contempt of court will apply from today (December 23) until Cui complies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The order relates to a case in which seven construction workers\u00a0<strong>accused IPI of labour abuse and human trafficking<\/strong>. Cui Li Jie was named third-party witness in the case.\u00a0On March 31, 2021, the court approved a motion from the plaintiff and issued an order instructing Cui to identify and save all telephone data she used or created after March 26, 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Judge Manglona has also approved the plaintiff&#8217;s attorney&#8217;s fees and the fees and instructed Cui to submit a sworn statement regarding her iTunes account no later than tomorrow (December 24). A hearing has been arranged for 8.30am on December 29, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/war-of-words-over-legal-advice-for-former-ipi-chairwoman\">Cui Li Jie<\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>said <strong>she was poorly represented in court by her lawyer<\/strong>, Juan T. Lizama. However, in an email disclosed in federal court, Lizama says that\u00a0<strong>John Mo Shi Jian<\/strong>, a former University of Macau law professor,\u00a0<strong>was giving Cui Li Jie bad advice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August,&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/former-ipi-chairwoman-in-contempt-of-court-again\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cui Li Jie<\/a>&nbsp;was also found to have<strong>&nbsp;breached a court preservation order&nbsp;<\/strong>that obliged her to keep data from her mobile phone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chief Judge Ramona V.
