MGM China has revealed it will pay a one-time bonus to eligible non-management employees, which represent 95 per cent of its staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Macau.-\u00a0MGM China<\/a>\u00a0has confirmed that a one-time discretionary allowance will be paid to eligible non-management team members. According to the company’s statement, 95 per cent of staff are eligible for the reward.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n The casino operator said the allowance will be equal to one month\u2019s salary and will be paid in two instalments before and after the 2022 Chinese New Year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Pansy Ho<\/strong>, MGM China Holdings Limited co-chairperson, said: “2021 was another year of adapting to changes, still our Golden Lion team strive their best to ride out of the storm. Recognizing the importance of vaccination in building\u00a0a solid barrier against the virus\u00a0<\/strong>for Macau\u2019s economy recovery, MGM team members actively vaccinated and has brought our staff vaccination rate to 95 per cent.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n She added: “In the coming year, MGM will forge ahead to walk out of the shadow of the pandemic with our local community.\u00a0We will continue to\u00a0bring forward Macau\u2019s cultural tourism to a new stage<\/strong>\u00a0through our ‘Tourism+’ development model with Lingnan culture as its foundation.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n As\u00a0previously reported by Focus Gaming News<\/a>,\u00a0Jonathan Halkyard<\/strong>, MGM\u2019s chief financial officer, has said that Macau\u2019s gaming market will improve in the medium term.\u00a0However, speaking in an online session at the Morgan Stanley Global Retail and Consumer Conference, he said that\u00a0Macau\u2019s gaming market performance<\/a>\u00a0will be irregular over the next six or twelve months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As for the two MGM venues in Macau, he said: \u201cWe\u2019ve got two big businesses there we\u2019re committed to, we have a great management team.
