Sithar Chhim, a union leader, said NagaWorld workers were preparing for possible arrests after the Phnom Penh Municipal Court declared the strike illegal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sithar Chhim said that from Monday,\u00a0<strong>NagaWorld employees may face disciplinary action from the company<\/strong> and possible criminal charges. She said she was &#8220;sure&#8221; someone would be arrested. she said 1,500 active and laid-off workers were participating in the strike.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/nagacorp-confirms-cut-jobs-due-to-economic-crisis\">NagaCorp<\/a>\u00a0confirmed plans to reduce pay and lay off employees<strong>\u00a0in order to improve cost efficiency<\/strong>\u00a0due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of the<strong>\u00a0Labor Rights Supported Union of Khmer Employees of NagaWorld\u00a0<\/strong>previously demanded NagaWorld reverse redundancies and rehire some of those fired and increase the\u00a0<strong>enhanced termination compensation<\/strong>\u00a0for those workers who have already accepted severance arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ment Kanika<\/strong>, a casino worker who was fired, told VOD: &#8220;We\u2019ll continue until we have a solution. We need the union.
