Another 49 people are under investigation. Officers carried out three riads, the first resulting in seven arrests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those arrested are accused of breaching the Common Gaming Companies Act. A second raid found people allegedly betting on horses and police seized cash, two mobile phones and betting equipment. Some of the people found are being investigated for violating Covid-19 countermeasures and could face up to six months in prison and\/or a fine of up to S$10,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In September,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/singapore-7-arrested-for-illegal-horse-race-betting\">police arrested seven people<\/a>\u00a0for alleged gambling activities related to horse race betting.\u00a0Officers said that\u00a0<strong>one of those arrested was a bookmaker\u00a0<\/strong>while a 49-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of having supplied unlawful remote betting services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August,&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/singapore-21-arrested-for-illegal-gambling\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">police arrested 21 people<\/a>&nbsp;for alleged&nbsp;<strong>gambling activities<\/strong>. A raid was carried out on a commercial unit in Bukit Batok Crescent, where&nbsp;<strong>11 women and 10 men were said to be gambling.<\/strong>&nbsp;Officers said those arrested included a couple who were using the unit as an&nbsp;<strong>illegal gambling venue<\/strong>.
