Analysts noted that countries such as the United States had seen &#8220;revenues fully recover in the second half.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Fitch believes <strong>a recovery in gaming revenues for Asia Pacific casinos will not come in 2023 or 2024<\/strong>\u00a0due to strict health codes in some countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other countries that are increasing their vaccination rates are Singapore and\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/malaysian-casino-industry-to-see-economic-rebound-in-q4\">Malaysia<\/a>, which are also opening their borders to let the tourism and gaming industries recover. However, <strong>China continues to maintain a zero-Covid policy<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Macau has also stuck to this rule and in the last months carried out three mass testings after\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-arrivals-plummet-after-new-covid-19-cases\">detecting local cases<\/a>. China tightened rules for travel between mainland and Macau leading to\u00a0<strong>a decline in the city&#8217;s GGR<\/strong>. In October, Macau saw\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-down-25-8-in-october\">the lowest monthly GGR of 2021<\/a>, down 25.8 per cent month-on-month and 40 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysts added the revision of Macau&#8217;s gaming law also poses challenges for the future as it&#8217;s unknown if current\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/mgm-ceo-optimistic-about-macau-casino-licence-renewal\">casino licences will be renewed<\/a>. Macau\u2019s current casino licences are due to expire in June 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Zhuhai relaxes Covid-19 restrictions for Macau<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>People who intend to travel from Macau to the neighbouring city of Zhuhai will now be allowed to travel with a negative Covid-19 nucleic acid test certificate issued within the past seven days.
