{"id":24565,"date":"2021-11-16T13:19:02","date_gmt":"2021-11-16T16:19:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=24565"},"modified":"2026-04-23T13:47:53","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T16:47:53","slug":"skycity-hamilton-to-reopen-from-november-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/skycity-hamilton-to-reopen-from-november-17","title":{"rendered":"SkyCity Hamilton to reopen from November 17"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>SkyCity has announced it expects to reopen its casino and entertainment facilities in Hamilton from November 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>New Zealand.- With New Zealand reducing the Covid-19 alert level for the Waikato region Level 2 from November 16,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/skycity-hamilton-in-temporary-closure-for-a-snap-five-day-lockdown\">SkyCity Entertainment Group<\/a>\u00a0has said it expects to reopen its casino and entertainment facilities in Hamilton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SkyCity said<strong>\u00a0it will reopen the venue in a staged manner from November 17 <\/strong>with additional health and safety measures\u00a0in place to reflect the Ministry of Health&#8217;s latest recommendations and guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SkyCity Auckland <strong>remains closed while Auckland remains at Covid-19 Alert Level 3<\/strong>.\u00a0SkyCity Queenstown is open since  Queenstown is at level 2. The company also has venues outside of New Zealand. Its properties in Adelaide and the SkyCity Online Casino are open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SkyCity will only allow vaccinated people to enter its casinos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/skycity-will-only-allow-vaccinated-people-to-enter-its-casinos\">SkyCity<\/a>\u00a0has decided to allow only vaccinated customers to enter its casinos. It will require Covid-19 vaccination certificates for entry to all SkyCity venues in New Zealand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to\u00a0<strong>Michael Ahearne, SkyCity\u2019s CEO<\/strong>, the casino operator has the highest available levels of protection against Covid-19 in place and is meeting its legal obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 but he said research had confirmed that \u201cCovid-19 vaccines will provide the best protection for our staff and customers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: \u201c<strong>SkyCity expects the CVC requirement will cover all employees (around 2,900), customers<\/strong>, contractors and visitors at our New Zealand sites to protect them from the harmful effects of Covid-19.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SkyCity has announced it expects to reopen its casino and entertainment facilities in Hamilton from November 17.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":18781,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"SkyCity Hamilton is set to reopen from November 17 following a reduction in Covid-19 alert levels in the Waikato region.
