Bernstein Ltd<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, Casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) for October will likely drop between 3% and 6% judged year-on-year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on the first 13 days of October,  Macau\u2019s GGR was estimated to be around \u20ac1,42\nbillion. \u201cHigher end play remained soft post Golden Week, as we have expected,\nand will likely stay so for the rest of October\u201d Bernstein analysts added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>China\u2019s State Council declared October 1-7 as this year\u2019s National Day holiday period, also known as autumn Golden Week. This is usually a peak season for Macau\u2019s tourism and casino industries as hundreds of thousands of mainland Chinese tourists take advantage of the week long break to visit Macau. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, according to several analysts, casino GGR in the city for the 2019 autumn Day Golden Week actually&nbsp;posted a <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/macau-october-revenue-casinos\"><em><strong>decline&nbsp;compared with the same period one year before<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, despite the&nbsp;increase in visitor arrivals&nbsp;during the holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sanford C. Bernstein stated that the average daily rate for GGR for the six-day period between October 8-13 stood at \u20ac84,2 million. <em>\u201cMass volume is estimated to have improved by high single digits although, VIP volume to have declined,\u201d<\/em> the brokerage added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, the brokerage Nomura said it was still expecting <em>\u201croughly flat GGR growth in October\u201d<\/em> for Macau\u2019s casino industry. \u201c<em>However, November\/December comps become tougher; so this would not come as a surprise if, as in the third quarter, GGR declines on a year-over-year basis in the fourth quarter.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Casino revenue for October in Macau to decline up to 6 percent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":133,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Macau's October Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) is projected to experience a 3-6% year-on-year decline, primarily attributed to persistent softness in the VIP segment following the Golden Week holiday, as reported by Sanford C.
