Macau.- From November 15, the government of Macau will require visitors to the city\u00a0to prove they are self-sufficient to satisfy essential needs<\/strong>. Those visiting must have at least MOP5,000 (US$623)<\/strong> for a <\/strong>seven-day stay, MOP10,000 (US$1,246) for 14 days, MOP 15,000 (US$1,870) for 21 days and MOP21,000 (US$2,618) for longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Those who want to enter Macau\u00a0must prove they have funds either with cash, negotiable instruments, travellers’ checks<\/strong>\u00a0or other payment methods accepted in Macau.\u00a0The measure comes as the government is revising its rules to allow the entrance of foreign visitors and the means of gaining a residence permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sanford C. Bernstein Ltd<\/a>\u00a0has reported that\u00a0Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue (GGR)\u00a0<\/strong>for the first week of November was up 12 per cent when compared to the previous week, mainly due to a strong recovery in average daily visits.
