Bernstein Ltd<\/strong>\u00a0has reported that\u00a0Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue (GGR)\u00a0<\/strong>for the first week of November was up 12 per cent when compared to the previous week, mainly due to a strong recovery in average daily visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to analysts, numbers have started to recover after\u00a0the impact of the outbreak of local Covid-19 cases<\/a>\u00a0at the beginning of October. There were more than 50,000 in and out movements per day last week, similar to numbers during the\u00a0Labour Day break<\/strong>\u00a0between May 1 and May 5. VIP average daily volume was up between 75 to 80 per cent month-on-month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A week ago,\u00a0Morgan Stanley Asia Ltd<\/a>\u00a0forecast that November GGR will be up\u00a057 per cent month-on-month<\/strong>\u00a0from MOP4.37bn (US$544m) to MOP6.9bn (US$860.9m) but down 30 per cent when compared to November 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n October<\/a>\u00a0saw the lowest monthly GGR of 2021, down 25.8 per cent month-on-month and 40 per cent year-on-year. It was below even August when\u00a0the city recorded GGR of MOP$4.44bn (US$554.5m)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Macau\u2019s chief executive Ho Iat Seng has said he hopes the city will soon reach an 80 per cent vaccination rate, which would make it easier to negotiate border openings with other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As of October 28, 456,368 people had been vaccinated, 108,777 of them with only one dose of a two-dose regime.
