Bernstein Ltd<\/strong>\u00a0has reported that\u00a0<strong>Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue (GGR)\u00a0<\/strong>between October 18 and 24 was up 98 per cent when compared to the previous week.\u00a0The city saw\u00a0<strong>an average daily revenue of\u00a0<\/strong>MOP157m (US$19.6m), up from the MOP79m, mainly due to an easing of restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Macau has registered a rebound in visitor arrivals after\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/zhuhai-to-ease-travel-restrictions-with-macau-from-tomorrow\">authorities in Zhuhai eased restrictions<\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>for people who have travelled from Macau, no longer requiring a 14-day quarantine.\u00a0During the first weeks of October, Macau registered\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-october-golden-week-at-risk-amid-local-covid-19-cases\">new local cases of Covid-19<\/a>, which had a deep impact on the highly anticipated October Golden Week.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Data from the Public Security Police show that daily average visitors to Macau during the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-golden-week-visitors-down-93\">holiday period<\/a>\u00a0was\u00a0<strong>down 93.7 per cent\u00a0<\/strong>compared with last year.\u00a0Analysts at<strong>\u00a0Sanford C. Bernstein Ltd<\/strong>\u00a0expect\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-for-october-likely-to-be-down-80-analysts-say\">Macau\u2019s GGR for October<\/a>\u00a0will be down 80 per cent when compared to 2019 levels, previous to the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first 24 days of the month, Macau&#8217;s GGR was down 86 per cent when compared to pre-pandemic levels, to MOP2.9bn (US$363m).
