The former <strong>Belmont bank manager<\/strong>\u00a0was jailed for gambling with stolen funds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Petkov spent AU$2.5m in six months on Crown&#8217;s electronic gaming machines (EGMs) and offered membership for the high-roller Pearl Room, which would allow him to gamble bigger sums. He was later jailed for five-and-a-half years for gambling with stolen funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lonnie Bossi, the CEO of Crown Perth<\/strong>, told the inquiry he heard from a worker that Petkov came from a well off family and had properties, with a Facebook search showing photographs of him. He admitted<strong>\u00a0there was no exhaustive examination of the source of his money\u00a0<\/strong>or whether the operator should offer services for potential gambling-harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bossi is also being investigated as\u00a0<strong>he was a signatory on a Riverbank bank account<\/strong>\u00a0that, according to the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-perth-licence-under-review-by-wa-royal-commission\">Bergin inquiry<\/a>, was linked to money laundering. He previously appeared at the royal commission when it was revealed that 60 per cent of all the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/gwc-prioritised-crown-perths-financial-interests-inquiry-hears\">money spent on EGMs<\/a>\u00a0came from people with gambling-related harm problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bossi said he expects to be removed from Crown&#8217;s board<\/strong>\u00a0soon but said the decision was not taken because of his performance. The\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/wa-royal-commission-extends-inquiry-into-crown-perth\">Western Australian Royal Commission<\/a>\u00a0into\u00a0<strong>Crown Perth will continue until March 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Victoria\u2019s Royal Commission report to be released on October 26<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Victoria\u2019s Royal Commission has sent its findings&nbsp;<\/strong>to the government last week and is expected a report will be released tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/victoria-royal-commission-to-deliver-crown-findings-on-friday\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Crown Melbourne<\/a>&nbsp;is currently operating with restaurants, bars and a hotel, but no gambling.
