The newspaper Khmer Times was told<strong>\u00a0three Chinese and a Thai man were also arrested\u00a0<\/strong>for running the illegal gambling website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>General Department of Immigration representative General Keo Vannthan said the department was helping the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh to send back the 20 Thai workers.\u00a0Police officers are <strong>looking to capture a Cambodian intermediary<\/strong>\u00a0who carried the Thais into the nation unlawfully.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to authorities, those arrested were sent for Covid-19 tests and five of them came back positive. Those arrested are reported to have posted <strong>on Facebook they had been detained by the online casino owner<\/strong>\u00a0and that the police had rescued them. The Preah Sihanouk police chief said this was not true.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">China and Cambodia renew the agreement on cross border crime<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/china-and-cambodia-renew-agreement-on-cross-border-crime\">China and Cambodia<\/a>\u00a0have renewed their existing cooperation agreement on cross border gambling.\u00a0<strong>China\u2019s Minister of Public Security and Cambodia\u2019s Minister of Interior<\/strong>\u00a0have agreed to continue tackling cross-border crimes,<strong>\u00a0including illegal online gambling<\/strong>.
