{"id":23795,"date":"2021-10-22T07:01:16","date_gmt":"2021-10-22T10:01:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=23795"},"modified":"2026-04-23T14:33:02","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T17:33:02","slug":"galaxy-and-melco-report-high-rates-of-vaccination-among-staff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/galaxy-and-melco-report-high-rates-of-vaccination-among-staff","title":{"rendered":"Galaxy and Melco report high rates of vaccination among staff"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Galaxy Entertainment has reported that 82 per cent of its staff has been vaccinated while Melco Resorts has reached a 75 per cent vaccination rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.- Casino operators have announced high vaccination rates among their employees in Macau. <strong>Galaxy Entertainment <\/strong>says that 82 per cent of its staff have been vaccinated\u00a0although it is not known if that refers to full vaccination or a single dose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/melco-resorts-vaccinates-2400-employees\">Melco Resorts &amp; Entertainment<\/a>, which\u00a0gave\u00a0<strong>each employee a bonus of MOP1,000 (US$125)\u00a0<\/strong>after getting vaccinated, has reported that more than 75 per cent of its employees have been fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lawrence Ho, chairman &amp; CEO of Melco Resorts &amp; Entertainment<\/strong>, said: \u201cMelco established colleague immunity as a key company objective to ensure a safe environment for colleagues, guests and the community.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I am grateful that our colleagues are taking this important step towards protecting themselves and the community and for helping us turn the page to a better, brighter tomorrow as we prepare to welcome visitors back to the city.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The news comes after <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-outbound-travellers-must-present-negative-covid-19-test\">Macau lifted its pandemic prevention alert<\/a>. Authorities said a\u00a0<strong>&#8220;zero-Covid&#8221; policy would remain in place until vaccination rates in the city reach 80 to 90 per cent<\/strong>.
