Some <strong>147 illegal services have also pulled out of the Australian market\u00a0<\/strong>since the ACMA started enforcement action in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through its website, ACMA stated: &#8220;Website blocking is also a valuable opportunity to alert people to illegal gambling services.\u00a0When users attempt to access a blocked site, they are unable to do so and are directed to the ACMA website for information about illegal and legal services.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In September,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/australia-acma-orders-blocking-of-5-offshore-gambling-platforms\">the regulator<\/a>\u00a0blocked another five offshore gambling websites that were operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
