Macau.-\u00a0The Grand Emperor Hotel<\/a>\u00a0has announced it will resume operations from October 19 after a two-week closure due to local Covid-19 cases. The venue was inside the so-called red core area\u00a0<\/strong>as one of the latest Covid-19 cases was detected in a person who stayed at the venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Employees and guests were tested and quarantined in the property for two weeks. Last Sunday\u00a0testing was carried out<\/strong>\u00a0and no new cases were detected. The company said Macau\u2019s Health Bureau had confirmed that the hotel was not the source of the Covid-19 outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite the food and drink operations reopening, the gaming floor will remain closed<\/strong>\u00a0as the area is still being disinfected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Authorities in Macau<\/a>\u00a0have recently announced that\u00a0entertainment venues were allowed to reopen\u00a0<\/strong>as no new Covid-19 cases have been detected. The city has now lifted its \u201cimmediate pandemic prevention\u201d alert. Health authorities have carried out new mass testing to exclude any potential Covid-19 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Authorities in Zhuhai have eased restrictions\u00a0<\/strong>for\u00a0people who have travelled from Macau<\/a>\u00a0and will no longer require a 14-day quarantine.\u00a0Ho Iat Seng<\/a>, Macau\u2019s chief executive, also said\u00a0people who plan to travel outside Macau would no longer need to present a negative Covid-19 test<\/strong>\u00a0issued within 24 hours of departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\nZhuhai to ease travel restrictions with Macau<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
