Macau.- As authorities in Macau continue to face the outbreak of Covid-19 cases that put an end to October Golden Week expectations<\/a>,\u00a0casino operators have said employees must either get vaccinated<\/strong>\u00a0or show negative Covid-19 tests to be able to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The measure was taken after Macau\u2019s\u00a0Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ)<\/strong>\u00a0intensified its inspections at casinos<\/a>\u00a0to ensure Covid-19 countermeasures are being followed.\u00a0According to local media reports,\u00a0the measure will be implemented later this month\u00a0<\/strong>and employees will have to pay for the tests if they don’t get vaccinated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Macau health authorities have recently confirmed they will maintain a zero Covid-19 policy until vaccination rates in the city reach 80 to 90 per cent. For now,\u00a0only 59 per cent of Macau’s population has been fully vaccinated\u00a0<\/strong>against Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Macau\u2019s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) <\/strong>has reported that the third scheduled meeting for the public consultation on gaming laws<\/a> has been cancelled due to safety reasons after authorities have raised the city\u2019s warning signal to No. 8 due to Typhoon Kompasu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s the third public consultation session to be cancelled.
