{"id":23443,"date":"2021-10-12T09:40:44","date_gmt":"2021-10-12T12:40:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=23443"},"modified":"2026-04-23T14:54:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T17:54:19","slug":"casino-oceanus-to-reopen-after-a-snap-four-day-closure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/casino-oceanus-to-reopen-after-a-snap-four-day-closure","title":{"rendered":"Casino Oceanus to reopen after a snap four-day closure"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>SJM Holdings has reported that Casino Oceanus has reopened its doors after a snap four-day closure due to local Covid-19 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.-&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/casino-oceanus-to-temporary-close-due-to-covid-19-cases\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Casino Oceanus<\/a>&nbsp;has announced that it<strong>&nbsp;has reopened its doors after closing for disinfection&nbsp;<\/strong>when a customer was found to have tested positive for Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SJM Holdings said the casino &#8220;strictly adheres to the pandemic prevention and control measures of the Macau SAR Government to ensure a safe and hygienic environment, safeguarding the health and safety of employees, guests and the entire Macau community.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A week ago, authorities ordered all&nbsp;<strong>entertainment venues, excluding casinos, to suspend operations<\/strong>&nbsp;from October 6 until further notice.&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-entertainment-venues-in-temporary-shutdown-due-to-covid\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The measure<\/a>&nbsp;covers cinemas, theatres, game consoles and electronic-game rooms and nightclubs, among other venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closures and countermeasures arrived at the start of the <strong>Golden Week holiday started<\/strong>, deeply affecting the national holidays as only\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-golden-week-visitors-down-93\">8,159 people arrived in Macau<\/a>\u00a0during the festive period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to JP Morgan Securities,\u00a0<strong>Macau&#8217;s GGR during the first ten days of October\u00a0<\/strong>was MOP1.25bn ($156m). The daily average was 1,166. On the first two days, 3,122 people arrived in Macau.
