Macau.-\u00a0Authorities in Zhuhai have tightened restrictions\u00a0<\/strong>for people who have travelled from Macau, declaring the city a medium-to-high risk area for Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A few days ago, authorities announced that\u00a0the mandatory 14-day quarantine<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0visitors from Macau<\/a>\u00a0would be kept in place due to new Covid-19 cases in Macau in the past week.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Leong Iek Hou, a Macau health official<\/strong>, said the city respected the decision and said different cities in the central area of China “may have unique” systems to classify the risk associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is unknown when Zhuhai’s current countermeasures will be lifted. Macau has carried out a new mass testing where 681,579\u00a0people were tested and\u00a0<\/strong>679,262 of them returned negative results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ho Iat Seng<\/a>, Macau\u2019s chief executive, has imposed a new rule under which people who plan to travel outside Macau must present a negative Covid-19 test issued within 24 hours of departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The new Covid-19 cases have had a deep impact on the highly anticipated October Golden Week, during which authorities had expected to welcome 40.000 daily visitors<\/a>.
