{"id":23317,"date":"2021-10-06T13:51:52","date_gmt":"2021-10-06T16:51:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=23317"},"modified":"2026-04-23T14:59:56","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T17:59:56","slug":"pagcor-approves-ph-resorts-request-to-suspend-clark-gaming-licence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-approves-ph-resorts-request-to-suspend-clark-gaming-licence","title":{"rendered":"PAGCOR approves PH Resorts request to suspend Clark gaming licence"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>PH Resorts has announced that PAGCOR has approved its request to suspend the provisional gaming licence for a casino in Clark Global City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The Philippines.- Gaming and hospitality firm&nbsp;<strong>PH Resorts Group Holdings&nbsp;<\/strong>has confirmed that The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR) has approved its request to voluntarily <strong>suspend its provisional licence for an integrated resort with a casino in Clark Global City<\/strong>, on the main island of Luzon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PH Resorts said the company had &#8220;sought for the voluntary suspension of its licence due to some lingering uncertainties surrounding the casino gaming industry especially with more competition in the Clark, Pampanga location.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The casino operator will now focus on the development of\u00a0<strong>its Emerald Bay casino resort<\/strong>\u00a0in Mactan, Cebu.\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/ph-resorts-delays-cebu-ir-first-phase-opening-to-q3-2022\">PH Resorts<\/a>\u00a0had originally hoped for a<strong>\u00a0soft launch by the end of this year<\/strong>, but that was put back\u00a0due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Completion of phase 1 is expected in\u00a0<strong>the third quarter of 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second phase, which will add more than 700 electronic gaming machines and 146 additional gaming tables, is slated for completion<strong>&nbsp;by 2026<\/strong>. The<strong>&nbsp;second phase will also include space for meetings and exhibitions<\/strong>&nbsp;and a second five-star hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to PH Resorts,&nbsp;<strong>the Emerald Bay IR first phase development has an estimated cost of US$238.5m<\/strong>. The second phase has a budget of US$465.4m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PH Resorts posts loss of US$3.5m for H1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/ph-resorts-posts-loss-of-us3-5m-for-h1\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PH Resorts Group Holding<\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>has shared its financial results for the first half of the year, revealing a&nbsp;<strong>total comprehensive loss of PHP175.5m (US$3.5m)<\/strong>.
