Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) has reported KRW9.42bn (US$7.96m) in casino sales for August, up 7 per cent when compared to the previous month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

South Korea.-\u00a0Grand Korea Leisure (GKL)<\/strong>\u00a0has shared its financial results for the month of September, reporting that casino sales were up\u00a0<\/strong>7 per cent\u00a0when compared to the previous month<\/a>, from KRW8.80bn (US$7.6m) to KRW9.42bn (US$7.96m). Sales were up 0.1 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Table games\u00a0revenue <\/strong>reached KRW7.92bn, up 9.9 per cent from August and up 1.4 per cent year-on-year.\u00a0Machine game sales were down 6.3 per cent<\/strong>\u00a0month-on-month to KRW1.50bn (down 6.4 per cent year-on-year).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operator of foreigner-only casinos registered KRW66.08bn in casino sales for the first nine months of the year, down 61.0 per cent year-on-year.\u00a0Table games aggregate sales\u00a0<\/strong>reached KRW55.43bn between January and September, down 62.7 per cent.\u00a0Machine game sales\u00a0<\/strong>were KRW10.65bn, down 48.7 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim Young-San named new CEO of Grand Korea Leisure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GKL<\/a>\u00a0has announced the appointment of\u00a0Kim Young-San as CEO and chairman of the board.<\/strong> Kim Young-San<\/strong>, who has served as vice-chairman of the Korea Casino Association since 2019, will replace\u00a0<\/strong>Yoo Tae-Yeol\u00a0<\/strong>for a three-year term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new CEO was director of the Culture and Arts Policy Office and of the Planning and Coordination Office <\/strong>from 2016 to 2019. He was appointed after recommendations from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
