Authorities in Macau have ordered all entertainment venues except for casinos to temporarily halt operations from October 6 due to a rise in local Covid-19 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Macau.- Amid a rise in local Covid-19 cases in recent hours, authorities have ordered all entertainment venues, excluding casinos, to suspend operations<\/strong>\u00a0from October 6 until further notice. The measure covers cinemas, theatres, game consoles and electronic-game rooms and nightclubs, among other venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although\u00a0casino venues have not been ordered to close their gaming floors,<\/strong>\u00a0resorts must shut down their spas, gymnasiums, lounges and bars. It is still unknown how long the measure will last or whether it could be extended to gaming floors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Authorities<\/a>\u00a0have revealed\u00a0<\/strong>that\u00a0only 3,122 visitors\u00a0<\/strong>arrived in Macau during\u00a0the first two days of the national Golden Week<\/strong>\u00a0holiday<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 down 92 per cent compared with last year \u2013 following the appearance of\u00a0new local cases of Covid-19<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nMacau faces new Covid-19 cases in October Golden Week<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
