SkyCity Entertainment Group has reported that its Hamilton venue will remain closed for at least five days amid a new outbreak of Covid-19 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

New Zealand.-\u00a0Authorities in New Zealand\u00a0<\/strong>have places the city of Hamilton under Level 3 restrictions due to two new Covid-19 cases registered in the last week. SkyCity has temporarily shut down its Hamilton venue\u00a0<\/strong>for at least five days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SkyCity Auckland property also remains closed<\/strong>\u00a0as Auckland remains at Covid-19 Alert Level 3. SkyCity Queenstown<\/a>\u00a0has reopened its doors on September 7 and will continue without any changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for SkyCity venues outside New Zealand<\/strong>, SkyCity Adelaide and SkyCity Online Casino, are unaffected by the latest restrictions.\u00a0SkyCity Adelaide remains open with physical distancing and hygiene requirements already in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SkyCity profits up 36.3% for FY21<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SkyCity Entertainment Group<\/a> <\/strong>has shared its financial results for the fiscal year 2021, reporting normalised profit after tax (NPAT) up 36.3 per cent<\/strong> and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) up 25.5 per cent year-on-year. Its net profit of AU$156.1m was down 34 per cent <\/strong>from the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reported EBITDA was down 8.9 per cent and reported NPAT was down 33.7 per cent versus the prior year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company said it had benefitted from domestic tourism<\/strong>, particularly on the weekend and holidays at its Adelaide, Hamilton, and Queenstown venues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A strong performance from its gaming businesses<\/strong> in New Zealand has resulted in 45,000 active customers. However, it was affected by a fire at its convention centre construction project<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
