Since September 16,\u00a0<strong>the capital district has been under Level 4<\/strong>, the second-strictest level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under this level,\u00a0<strong>casinos, lottery and betting shops, and other gaming venues must remain shut<\/strong>\u00a0unless the Inter-Agency Task Force or the Office of the President specifically allows them to reopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through its website,<strong>\u00a0Solaire Resort and Casino\u00a0<\/strong>said its venue remains closed and it is not allowed to accept new hotel reservations. Another casino venue,\u00a0<strong>City of Dreams Manila<\/strong>\u00a0stressed that staycations are not allowed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the city moves to Level 3 after October 15, casinos could be allowed to reopen at 30 per cent of their venue capacity while under Level 2, capacity will extend to 50 per cent. Only when the city reaches Level 1 will casinos be able to reopen at full capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Philippines GGR down 27% for Q2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/philippines-ggr-down-27-for-q2\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp<\/a>&nbsp;(Pagcor) has reported that gaming revenue&nbsp;<strong>fell by 27 per cent&nbsp;<\/strong>to PHP18.80bn (US$373.0m)<strong>&nbsp;in the second quarter of 2021<\/strong>, down from PHP25.74bn in the first quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However,&nbsp;<strong>GGR was up 690 per cent&nbsp;<\/strong>when compared to the previous year when the Covid-19 pandemic haltered the gaming industry and&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-gaming-casino-operations-manila\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the majority of the casino venues were closed<\/a>. The government announced&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/metro-manila-extends-covid-19-restrictions-by-one-week\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ)<\/a>&nbsp;measures in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Manila\u2019s casinos generated 78 per cent of the GGR<\/strong>&nbsp;for the second quarter, with a total of PHP14.67bn.
