{"id":23138,"date":"2021-09-30T13:36:16","date_gmt":"2021-09-30T16:36:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=23138"},"modified":"2021-09-30T13:43:41","modified_gmt":"2021-09-30T16:43:41","slug":"casinos-in-nepal-allowed-to-reopen-after-18-month-shutdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/casinos-in-nepal-allowed-to-reopen-after-18-month-shutdown","title":{"rendered":"Casinos in Nepal allowed to reopen after 18-month shutdown"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Authorities have allowed casinos to resume operations following the closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic almost a year and a half ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Nepal.-\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/nepal-lemon-tree-to-open-new-hotel-with-adjacent-casino\">Casino venues<\/a>\u00a0have\u00a0been allowed to <strong>resume operations in Nepal around 18 months <\/strong>after being ordered to close due to the Covid-19 pandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Surya Bahadur Kunwar<\/strong>, Nepal Independent Hotel, Casino and Restaurant Workers\u2019 Union Central Committee president, said that\u00a0<strong>more than half a dozen casinos have reopened\u00a0<\/strong>and others are gradually returning to operate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taranath Adhikari, a Tourism Ministry spokesperson<\/strong>, also confirmed casinos had been allowed to return to activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/nepal-closes-resorts-casinos\">gambling venues in Nepal had been shut since March 24, 2020<\/a>, when authorities imposed a lockdown due to Covid-19.
