(PAGCOR)<\/strong>\u00a0has remitted PHP25m to two municipalities to help them build Multi-Purpose Evacuation Centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Louisiana and Victoria are classified as fourth-class towns, with\u00a0<strong>a population of more than 70,000<\/strong>. Evacuating people in emergencies and extreme weather conditions poses a huge challenge for disaster relief services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Luisiana Mayor Nestor Rondilla<\/strong>&nbsp;said: &#8220;This soon-to-be-built permanent evacuation centre from PAGCOR is exactly what we need and prayed for. We\u2019re grateful beyond words for this blessing.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regulator has also held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the PAGCOR Village in Barangay San Sebastian. <strong>PAGCOR released PHP30m to the local government\u00a0<\/strong>of Mataas na Kahoy to initiate a permanent housing project for families displaced by the eruption of the Batangas Taal volcano.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few weeks ago,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-gives-php8m-to-ngo-for-people-with-disabilities\">PAGCOR<\/a>\u00a0remitted PHP8m to a non-government organisation catering to people with disabilities. The cash is<strong>\u00a0part of PAGCOR Cares<\/strong>, which also supports training and workshops, conferences, scholarships and the components in making prosthetics conducted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PFPPI Chairman Dr. Teodoro Herbosa&nbsp;<\/strong>said PAGCOR\u2019s donation will help the non-government organisation finance the training of scholars on a prosthetics-making course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PAGCOR announces support for Casino Filipino host cities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The regulator has approved a<strong>&nbsp;PHP34.64m (US$678,543) grant for cities that host a Casino Filipino<\/strong>&nbsp;to help them recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Andrea Domingo, PAGCOR chairman<\/strong>, said: \u201cWith the approved grant of PHP34.64m, our host cities will be able to receive financial support that is almost equivalent to their host city share allocation under full operational capacity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Domingo said the money remitted by PAGCOR to its host networks is used for different activities, including emergency assistance to calamity victims, education programs, anti-drug abuse campaigns, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between 2016 to March 2020,&nbsp;<strong>PAGCOR dispatched over PHP1.93bn to urban communities<\/strong>&nbsp;that have a Casino Filipino branch.
