Concordia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The Philippines.- The<strong> Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR)<\/strong>\u00a0has announced that\u00a0<strong>James Patrick Bondoc<\/strong>, former vice president for corporate social responsibility, has been appointed as a member of the board of directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>He will serve the unexpired term of office of the late Director Reynaldo E. Concordia\u00a0<\/strong>that began on July 1, 2021, and will end on June 30, 2022. He was sworn into office in Barangay Pinagkaisahan in Quezon City on September 15, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bondoc said <strong>he will try to provide more support for the current programmes<\/strong>\u00a0and initiatives of PAGCOR&#8217;s management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: &#8220;Being in this new position will allow me to make policy adjustments that will further enhance PAGCOR\u2019s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs and hopefully, the agency\u2019s revenue generation capacity amidst the ongoing pandemic.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bondoc also served as officer-in-charge and assistant vice president\u00a0of the agency\u2019s Entertainment Department from 2016 to 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PAGCOR gives PHP8m to NGO for people with disabilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-approves-lrwc-electronic-games-system-service\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PAGCOR<\/a>&nbsp;has remitted PHP8m to the Physicians for Peace Philippines Incorporated (PFPPI), a non-government organisation catering to people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cash is<strong>&nbsp;part of PAGCOR Cares<\/strong>, which also supports training and workshops, conferences, scholarships and the components in making prosthetics conducted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PFPPI Chairman Dr. Teodoro Herbosa&nbsp;<\/strong>said PAGCOR\u2019s donation will help the non-government organisation finance the training of scholars on a prosthetics-making course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: \u201cWe partnered with the University of the East, and we put up the Philippine School of Prosthetics and Orthotics. These are people who take a three-year course and learn how to make fine prostheses for amputees. We have had many scholars, and&nbsp;<strong>this is the project now with PAGCOR that we have named PAGCOR Cares<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May,&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-remits-us28-3m-to-philippines-national-treasury\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the regulator<\/a>&nbsp;remitted Php1.35bn (US$28.3m) to the National Treasury bringing the total remitted this year to Php3bn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-revenue-down-60-in-2020\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PAGOR<\/a>\u2018s revenue for 2020 was<strong>&nbsp;US$624m, down 60.4 per cent<\/strong>&nbsp;year-on-year and the lowest for at least seven years. The<strong>&nbsp;Covid-19 pandemic deeply affected casino revenues<\/strong>&nbsp;due to&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/metro-manila-casinos-to-remain-closed-until-at-least-may-14\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">several lockdowns<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PAGCOR has announced that James Patrick Bondoc will join its board of directors to replace the late Director Reynaldo E.
