The campaign aims to allow\u00a0<strong>Macau ID holders and Guangdong residents\u00a0<\/strong>to<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>travel to Hong Kong without compulsory quarantine on arrival from September 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysts say the easing of Covid-19 restrictions in Hong Kong is\u00a0<strong>unlikely to have effects on Macau&#8217;s tourism sector.<\/strong>\u00a0Nonetheless, they see the news as positive, representing one small step towards the \u201creopening\u201d of travel within the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They said: &#8220;To be clear,\u00a0<strong>these schemes are designed primarily for those who have families or business in Hong Kong, not for tourists<\/strong>, as under current rules, such travellers would still need to undergo a 14-day quarantine upon return to China.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor<\/strong>, Hong Kong&#8217;s chief executive, said the city had seen zero local Covid-19 infections for 21 days. She said the Come2HK scheme would have\u00a0<strong>a daily quota of 1,000 travellers via Shenzhen Bay Port in Guangdong<\/strong>, and another 1,000 via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Macau maintains its 14-day quarantine for those allowed to enter Macau through Hong Kong. Mainland China continues to be the only country to have a&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/covid-19-vaccine-passports-could-speed-up-macau-tourism-recovery\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">largely quarantine-free travel bubble<\/a>&nbsp;with Macau.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Macau raises expectations for October Golden Week<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) now predicts&nbsp;<strong>the city could receive 30,000 visitors per day<\/strong>&nbsp;during the October Golden Week.
