Crawford praised Eldershaw&#8217;s experience and said<strong>\u00a0she &#8220;brings a wide array of skills which will be a great asset to ILGA.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eldershaw will replace Nicole McWilliam<\/strong>, whose term has finished, to brings the board\u2019s membership back to eight.\u00a0She is a barrister admitted to practice in New South Wales and in the High Court of Australia. She completed a Bachelor of Laws in 2004 and earned a Bachelor of Nursing in 1995.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regulator said: &#8220;ILGA is committed to fair and transparent decision making and dealing with matters in a timely and efficient manner.\u00a0People appointed to the ILGA board must be of the highest integrity and promote fair, transparent, and efficient decision-making. Ms Eldershaw clearly meets all these requirements.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rest of the comprises chair Philip Crawford, deputy chair Murray Smith and members Craig Sahlin, Stephen Parbery, Sarah Dinning, Samantha Zouroudis, and Paul Gentle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NSW to create new casino regulator following Crown inquiry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The NSW government will create&nbsp;<strong>a new independent casino regulator<\/strong>&nbsp;that will have the powers of a standing Royal Commission and will be funded by a casino supervisory levy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to authorities, the creation of the new casino regulator follows&nbsp;<strong>a suggestion made by former Supreme Court judge Patricia Bergin&nbsp;<\/strong>in her final report, which found&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/ilga-crown-resorts-unsuitable-to-operate-barangaroo-casino\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Crown unsuitable to hold its licence<\/a>&nbsp;for its second Sydney casino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Victor Dominello<\/strong>, minister for digital and customer service, said the new Independent Casino Commission would be in charge of approving all acquisitions, holdings or transfer of interest of 10 per cent or more in a casino licence.
