{"id":22266,"date":"2021-09-02T12:45:51","date_gmt":"2021-09-02T15:45:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=22266"},"modified":"2026-04-23T16:03:06","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T19:03:06","slug":"rgb-international-reports-us13-3m-revenue-for-q2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/rgb-international-reports-us13-3m-revenue-for-q2","title":{"rendered":"RGB International reports US$13.3m revenue for Q2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Malaysian casino services provider has reported total revenue of MYR55.47m ($13.3m) for the second quarter of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Malaysia.- Casino services provider<strong>\u00a0RGB International\u00a0<\/strong>has shared its financial results for the second quarter of the year, reporting revenue of MYR55.47m ($13.3m), up <strong>284 per cent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company posted<strong>\u00a0profits of MYR601,000 (US$144,931)<\/strong>, compared to a loss of MRY14.0m in Q2 2020. Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) for the second quarter was MYR14.3m.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Revenue from\u00a0<strong>RGB\u2019s main sales and marketing division\u00a0<\/strong>was up 197.5 per cent to MYR38.2m, mainly due to an\u00a0<strong>increase in the number of products sold<\/strong>\u00a0and variation in product mix offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Revenue from the technical support\u00a0<\/strong>and management division was MYR17m, up from MYR1.5m thanks to <strong>more outlets having resumed operations<\/strong>. However due to\u00a0<strong>restrictions to avoid a rise in Covid-19 cases<\/strong>, the segment recorded a loss of MYR9m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/rgb-international-reports-us1-7m-loss-for-q4\">last quarter of the year 2020<\/a>, the company has reported a 60 per cent decline in revenue, with revenue from RGB\u2019s main sales and marketing division down 62 per cent to MYR37.2m (US$9.2m). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Revenue from the technical support and management division\u00a0<strong>decreased by 56 per cent<\/strong>\u00a0to MYR14.9m (US$3.7m), generating a loss of MYR8.7m (US$2.1m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Malaysia eases some restrictions for the fully vaccinated<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The government of Malaysia has announced that&nbsp;<strong>certain countermeasures will be eased for fully vaccinated people<\/strong>, including the opening of hair salons, shops selling electrical goods, furniture, sporting equipment and car accessories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The measure took effect on August 16. However, casinos have not reopened yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/resorts-world-genting-announces-complete-closure\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resorts World Genting<\/a>\u2018s casino has been closed since May. It&nbsp;<strong>closed all of its services&nbsp;<\/strong>in June, after Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced a nationwide<strong>&nbsp;Covid-19 lockdown.<\/strong>&nbsp;Until then, the resort\u2019s hotels, food and beverage outlets, shopping malls, retail outlets and other facilities remained open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/genting-malaysia-likely-to-reopen-in-november-analysts-say\">Maybank Investment Bank<\/a>\u00a0has predicted that Genting Malaysia\u2019s Resort World Genting won\u2019t reopen its doors until November.
